The BL Tips ultrasonic tips by B&L,compatible with Satelec or EMS, feature micro-projections on the main part of the tip, making them sharper and more abrasive. Unlike diamond-coated endodontic tips, whose coatings wear off during surgery, tips with micro-projections are more durable and efficient during cutting.
The end of the BL Tips comes in various shapes and sizes, allowing the clinician to effectively control the amount of dentin removed. Tips with 100µm micro-projections are ideal for removing large amounts of dentin, while 50µm tips are better suited for more precise work. They are also highly useful for accessing the root canal, as the tip's end works in any direction.
Each BL Tip is designed for a specific function:
- BL Tip 1 is indicated for removing pulp stones and calcified dentin, as well as gutta-percha or bonded materials (100µm micro-projections).
- BL Tip 3 is intended for removing secondary dentin and pulp stones. Thanks to its resistance to fracture, it can be used at higher power and speed (100µm micro-projections).
- BL Tip 5 is sharper and longer, allowing efficient preparation of the coronal half of the canal and creating space for file insertion. The tip is more flexible, enabling the dentist to adjust the angle (50µm micro-projections).
